The owners of Boreala Management acquire Facilitation First, expanding their expertise in facilitation and organizational development.
PRESS RELEASE Montréal, August 27, 2025
The Owners of Boreala Management, a specialist consulting firm known for delivering high-impact solutions in strategy, human resources, organizational effectiveness and employee development, are pleased to announce the acquisition of Facilitation First, a boutique training company renowned for its expertise in facilitation skills training, certification and coaching.
The acquisition marks a thoughtful succession plan as Facilitation First’s founder, Michael Goldman, prepares for retirement after leading the business for over 30 years and represents a strategic alignment between two values-led organizations, combining Boreala Management’s broader consulting capabilities with Facilitation First’s focused experience in high-impact facilitation training.
Michael will continue to collaborate with Facilitation First as both a consultant for key strategic projects as well as in an advisory capacity to the firm as a subject matter expert.
“It’s the right time for me to step away from the operations, and I couldn’t think of better partners than the leaders of Boreala Management to take Facilitation First into its next chapter,” said Michael Goldman, Founder of Facilitation First. “This move ensures that our clients and team are in good hands – with a company that shares our values and our passion for transforming how organizations collaborate through facilitation excellence.”
While this acquisition brings exciting opportunities for future growth, both companies will continue to operate independently for the foreseeable future. Facilitation First will maintain its current team, brand, and proven approach to service delivery to ensure continuity for clients and partners. There are no changes to how clients engage with Facilitation First or its outstanding programs.
“We’ve admired Facilitation First’s work for many years and have been certifying our Consultants in the Facilitation First methodology to better support our clients. We’re thrilled to welcome the Facilitation First team and their clients into the Boreala family. We see exciting opportunities to collaborate, share expertise, and learn from one another. Together, we’re committed to creating new opportunities and delivering even greater value for our clients across both organizations.” said Lyndsy Evenden, Partner, Strategic Growth, Boreala Management.
Over time, both organizations will explore opportunities to share knowledge, integrate select offerings, and collaborate on new client solutions, all while preserving what makes each company unique.
Key Messages:
- Consistency and Continuity – Facilitation First will continue to operate independently, with its full team and services intact.
- Client experience remains unchanged – Existing programs, contacts, and delivery models will continue without disruption.
- Strategic partnership with long-term value – Clients will benefit from new offerings and collaborative services in the future.
- Shared commitment to quality and values – Both companies bring a strong focus on client-centered delivery, evidence-based practice, and impactful learning experiences.
